Skin Deep Clinic Timeline

September 2008

Skin Deep Aesthetics took up residence in Coronation Buildings on Gladstone Road, starting with only one treatment room, offering Botox, dermal fillers, IPL and Surgitron mole removal.

August 2009

Skin Deep Aesthetics relocates to 41 Stout Street, setting up larger premises to develop a growing clinic.

January 2011

Dr Andrew Botting starts his skin cancer clinic, offering full body checks and offering surgical and non-surgical treatments for skin cancers.

January 2011

Dr Geoff Olsen starts his monthly trip to Gisborne to treat varicose veins non-surgically with ELT and UGS and enjoy the local fine wines and cuisine. He enjoys the monthly trips here with his wife.

May 2011

Anuya and husband Marty welcome their first child, little girl Safia Isabella.

February 2012

Sophie Hunter, registered nurse joined the team to offer nurse led services and enjoys a new direction into cosmetic nursing.

October 2012

Rose Pettigrew, moved down from Tolaga Bay to Gisborne and became the clinic manager of Skin Deep, she integrated well into the environment

November 2012

Ana Ratapu registered nurse and beauty therapist moved back to Gisborne from the dusty fields of Woolongon. She moved to be near family and was delighted to join the growing team at Skin deep. In Australia she had worked in the beauty industry.

November - December 2012

Renovations and a complete makeover to Skin Deep clinic transforms it from a two room clinic to four fully functioning treatment rooms and a beautifully insulated and decorated front of house.

June 2013

Dr Vincent Crump, Dermatologist and allergy specialist joins the growing list of medical experts and starts his first allergy clinic providing diagnosis and treatments for allergies, eczema …

July 2013

Registered nurse Pepi Bolton-Riley joins as our list of services expands.  Pepi is Gisborne born and bred returned from Australia where she had worked in a skin clinic working with injectables, lasers, IPL and in the field of acne.

November 2013

Anuya completes her Diploma of Microsclerotherapy with the Australian College of Phlebology.

March 2014

Due to demand Skin Deep employ another registered nurse, Arna Searle, who is orginally from Hawkes Bay but has settled in Gisborne with husband George Searle.

June 2014

Anuya completes her Diploma in Practical Dermatology through the Unversity of Cardiff. This completes her desire to become more competent in consulting and treating dermatology conditions.

Dec 2014

Registered nurse Ashlee Oudes joins the team initally as a maternity cover for Arna and Ana then as a permanent member of the team.

Aug 2015

Anuya and husband Marty welcome their second child, little boy Marcus Ronin.

Oct 2015

Anuya completes her Diploma of Procedural Phlebology, a four year post graduate specialist training in the examination and treatment of venous disease. 

July 2016

Skin Deep clinic relocates to bigger, brighter premises on Cobden Street. Located opposite Chelsea Hospital the former building of surgeon John Kyngdon provides the perfect location and expansion of space to allow the next step for Skin Deep...to provide a centre of excellence for medical and surgical specialsits keen to share their passion to help patients.

Anuya and husband Marty welcome their third child, little girl Ariana Olivia.

December 2016

Due to rapid expansion and the growth of services being offered, Skin Deep take on full time clinic manager Chrissy Aldridge. Chrissy has a strong background of nursing, having spent 19 years at TDH, with the last 5 being the intra-operative theatre nurse manager. Her strong will, determination and passion to deliver outstanding patient care and experience gained her the role.

Feb 2017

Jade White (nee McIntosh-Dona) was married on Feb 3rd and joined the Skin Deep team on Feb 15th, now thats committment to a new job! Skin Deep welcomes highly qualified Jade as front of house patient care, spa therapist and social media co-ordinator. Jade has a natural way of making the clinic feel amazingly warm and inviting, easing the journey from an unknown to an altogether outstanding experience.  

March 2017

Dr Intesar Malik offers private General Medical services clinics at Skin Deep Clinic. He welcomes any patients who present with complex non-surgical medical problems, and I’m excited to join the friendly team at Skin Deep who are committed to the highest standards of patient care. Dr Malik specialises in General Medicine, Parkinson’s Disease, Osteoporosis and particularly Stroke/TIA. He worked in the UK for eight years as a Consultant Physician, before coming to Gisborne to work at Gisborne Hospital in 2014. He is also an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians.

August 2017

We warmly welcome Keisha Bartlett back to join our team of skilled clinicians. Keisha takes pride in her job and work ethic, and is excited to implement her knowledge of best practice nursing and medical administration background with our services. For the growth of our business, we thought this would be an opportunity missed for her not to offer nurse-led services here at Skin Deep Clinic. 

November 2017

Dr Joanna Wojciechowska joins the team as a Medical Specialist (Consultant Physician). She offers a specialist consultation practice in the fields of general medicine and diabetes. Joanna's primarily focuses on making a specific diagnosis and then try to work with the general practitioner for the ongoing care. Often patients only have one or two visits with her but occasionally she will continue the ongoing care of some complex illnesses.
